The Kimpton Cottonwood Hotel offers two beautiful spaces ideal for a micro or intimate wedding. While both the Schimmel Ballroom and Gold Coast Ballroom can accommodate larger events, they can easily be transformed to suit smaller gatherings, creating a cozy, elegant atmosphere. The Schimmel Ballroom, with its lovely sunset views from the garden terrace, is perfect for smaller celebrations, while the Gold Coast Ballroom, with French doors leading to a private veranda, provides a charming setting. Both spaces offer soft, neutral tones and plenty of natural light—ideal for capturing timeless wedding portraits. Situated in the heart of Little Bohemia, The Bohemian Gardens is a unique venue absolutely brimming with historical charm and a romantic atmosphere. The courtyard filled with greenery and flowers is a beautiful spot for a ceremony or a reception. The Gardens has space for a live band or DJ and all the essentials for a perfect wedding day. They are one of the few full service, intimate wedding venues in Omaha. Meaning they partner with the best caterers, provide set up and tear down, and even have space for you and your guests to stay overnight (and so much more). The staff at the Bohemian Gardens will do everything they can to help you create a beautifully unique, and memorable wedding day.
Memorial Park is one of the city’s largest outdoor green spaces and has several spots that would be perfect for an intimate wedding ceremony or elopement. The Rose Garden is filled with blooming flowers and beautiful colors in the summer and early fall months. This spot is best from the months of late May through early October. It’s one of my favorite spots to take wedding photos and bridal party portraits, and one of my best kept secrets: it is a gorgeous spot to hold a ceremony!
You can make reservations online here, and the fee for this space is only 75 dollars as of the time we are writing this article. No electricity, alcohol, or receptions are allowed—making it a hidden gem for intimate Omaha elopements and outdoor ceremonies. I recommend following it up with a dinner at one of the other locations on this list.
The Elmwood Park Grotto is one of Omaha’s most serene and picturesque outdoor wedding locations. Situated on the southeast corner of Elmwood’s pavilion, it’s surrounded by lush greenery and vibrant flowers in the spring and summer months, while fall brings stunning autumn leaves. It’s a peaceful, nature-filled setting that’s perfect for your ceremony. The grotto is actually tucked below street level of Elmwood and has a small creek running through it. Think of it as the most relaxing white noise in the middle of Omaha. Reservations can be made online, with a fee of $75. The grotto has one electrical outlet available making it easy to play music for your ceremony. It’s the perfect spot for a ceremony! After your small ceremony in the grotto, you can host a small reception in the nearby building.
Just a short walk from the Old Market and into the Little Italy neighborhood of Omaha, you’ll find Café Postale. This small venue blends vintage inspiration with modern design and offers three distinct spaces under one roof. The Northside event space features tall ceilings, huge windows, and exposed brick walls. In the Café, you’ll find vintage photographs, an old bank vault door, and abundant natural light. Then there is the Garden Patio, an outdoor spot that you can access from both the Café and the Northside. Between these three spaces, the abundance of natural light, the rich history, and the onsite event coordinator, your day will be easy going, and memorable! I like to encourage people to use the patio for happy hour because it has the best view of downtown!
If you are a foodie, this one is for you. This romantic hideaway in the heart of the Old Market is the perfect setting for an intimate wedding reception with your closest loved ones. Once home to the iconic French Café, the space now houses Le Bouillon Restaurant and Raw Bar. It offers a seriously charming atmosphere and exquisite dining. Le Bouillon has the prettiest private dining space and has top tier staff for foodies that want to really treat their guests, even at an intimate Omaha wedding.
If you’re envisioning an intimate celebration or micro wedding in Omaha, Lucile’s Old Market is a venue that truly stands out. Its serene courtyard garden, ivy-draped brick walls, and historic architecture create a magical setting that sets it apart from typical wedding venues. Inside, the antique-inspired interior adds a touch of vintage charm, making it feel like a step back in time. It’s easy to miss from the outside – it is tucked into the heart of downtown like a little secret – but once inside, you and your guests will be wowed by its hidden beauty.
As a photographer who loves capturing rich, green tones, Lucile’s gardens is one of my favorite locations to shoot. It offers the perfect backdrop for unforgettable and unique wedding photos. I recommend bringing in lots of warm candles for a candlelit meal in their dining room.
Hotel Deco offers several intimate venue options, but the Rockefeller Room and Monarch Restaurant are by far my favorites. The Rockefeller Room, with its dramatic black walls and striking floral mural, creates an atmosphere perfect for small, intimate gatherings. With a capacity for up to 25 people, it’s an ideal setting for intimate weddings or rehearsal dinners in downtown Omaha.
While the Monarch Restaurant isn’t your typical wedding venue, it offers one of the most memorable reception experiences I’ve had as a wedding photographer. If you’re a foodie, this spot is a must! Its unique setting adds a special touch to your celebration and it is a well-kept secret that you’re actually able to buy out the whole dining room on request. Your guests will be talking about the exceptional meal, the wine pairings, and the immaculate vibe of your reception for years to come!
Keep it simple and get married at the courthouse! There’s something incredibly charming about a courthouse wedding. The Douglas County Courthouse offers the perfect blend of city vibrancy and historic elegance, making it a beautiful spot for a low-key yet meaningful ceremony. I know exactly how to capture the courthouse’s unique architecture, which will make your wedding photos truly stand out. Plus, we’ll find a quiet, intimate spot for some couple portraits to capture those special moments. It’s a wonderful option for couples who want a simple, timeless wedding experience without sacrificing beauty or style.
