If the old wives tale “rain on your wedding day is good luck” is true, then Aly and Shane are certainly in for years and years of happiness and joy. Boy did it pour on their day! Luckily, we were snuggled into The Farnam Hotel for the entire event and completely surrounded by the romantic and beautiful indoor spaces to grab all the amazing wedding day shots.
Looking back at the gallery, you would never know that Aly and Shane weren’t sure about being photographed on their big day. When they contacted me they really only had two big concerns. One, they wanted to be sure I would help out with all the posing! Of course, I said I’d be by their side all day helping them.
Their second concern, making sure their baby, Champ the dog, would be included on their special day. He couldn’t be at the ceremony and reception so they needed to be sure that his presence was felt. The sweetest napkins with his cute face on them were a big hit at the reception and of course made an appearance in the gallery!
As the day began the boys played games and got a little rowdy, cheering on Shane and making sure he was all good to go. The girls partied it up in their own way, doing their hair and make-up and making sure their girl was all hyped up. Aly’s best childhood friend, Riley from Art Salon, did her hair and was by her side all day long, making sure she looked perfect.
The ceremony took place after the sunset during blue hour in a room walled with windows and lit by candles. The most romantic of romantic ceremonies you could imagine!
Afterward, the two were truly on cloud 9! I have never seen a couple celebrating so hard! They jumped up onto a table, champagne glasses in hand, to celebrate and dance. These two have my heart!
They kept the celebration going when they burst into the reception hand in hand and ready to party! Their guests cheered them on like I had never heard. What began as a classy and elegant way to kick off the night turned into the silliest champagne pour as the tower came tumbling down and the champagne tipped it over. Aly and Shane laughed out loud along with all of their guests and it was made into the most hilarious and memorable moment!
This wedding day and its couple stole my heart!! The rain couldn’t stop them and a broken champagne tower only means one great party. Aly and Shane, I hope you continue to dance on tables together for as long as you can hop up on them!!
