The morning of their wedding day, Gabby and Dylan were both completely giddy with excitement! After COVID postponements and a long delay these two FINALLY got to have their big day. I absolutely adored their hotel rooms at the Omaha Cottonwood Hotel! They were filled with natural lighting and picturesque windows, making them the perfect spot to get ready for the wedding day and a photographer’s dream!
Gabby was surrounded by her closest family and friends the entire time she got ready. Her mom carefully cut off her dress tag and helped her slip into her gorgeous gown. Her face lit up with pure joy the moment it was on. You could tell she had built up so much anticipation and it was finally here. Dylan had a much more quiet and chill morning. He got ready alone, and enjoyed a much needed nap after a long (and epic) night on the welcome party bus! As he put on the final details and buttoned his cufflinks, you could see the excitement and anticipation on his face. He was so ready to see his bride!
As we prepared to head down for the bride and groom’s first look, Gabby grabbed some perfume and sprayed it on like she was a dang movie star! If you don’t have a special scent for your wedding day, you should get one! It is the perfect little touch to make just that much more special.
The two had an intimate first look and then walked down to the Cottonwood Hotel’s ballroom to take a peek at their reception space. Huge floral arrangements accented the space and added to the already romantic atmosphere. As they walked through the room, Gabby took a moment to stop at the place setting for her late brother. She placed a boutonniere meant for him and took the time to remember and honor his life and their sweet relationship. It is an honor to capture moments like this.
The rest of the day was spent bopping around Blackstone and The Cottonwood Hotel, capturing so much joy and love and emotion. Looking back at their gallery I can’t help but be filled with so much emotion!
After the wedding, it was important for us to commemorate the spirit of Gabby’s brother, whom she loved dearly. We could definitely feel him on the day. Our team found a local artist and took a family portrait of the family to her to create one last image: the whole family and Gabby’s Heavenly brother.
